- 12 lasagna noodles no-boil variety
- 1 lb ground beef or turkey for a lighter version
- 1 jar marinara sauce
- 1 cup ricotta cheese
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 egg
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 1 tsp dried basil
Step-by-Step Instructions:
Step 1: Preheat the oven

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
Step 2: Brown the meat

In a large skillet, heat over medium heat.

Add 1 lb of ground beef (or turkey).

Cook until the meat is fully browned, breaking it up into small pieces with a spatula.

Once the meat is cooked through, drain any excess fat from the skillet.
Step 3: Add the sauce and seasonings

Add 1 jar of marinara sauce (about 24 oz) to the meat in the skillet.

Stir in 1 tsp of dried oregano, 1 tsp of dried basil, salt, and pepper to taste.

Allow the sauce to simmer for 5-10 minutes on low heat, stirring occasionally.
Step 4: Prepare the cheese mixture

In a medium-sized bowl, mix together the following:

1 cup of ricotta cheese

1 egg

1 cup of shredded mozzarella cheese (half of the mozzarella)

Salt and pepper to taste

Stir until everything is combined evenly. Set aside.
Step 5: Assemble the lasagna

Take a 9x13 inch baking dish and spread a small layer of the meat sauce on the bottom.

Place 4 no-boil lasagna noodles on top of the sauce, making sure they don’t overlap.

Spread half of the ricotta cheese mixture over the noodles.

Add a layer of meat sauce on top of the ricotta mixture.

Repeat the process: Add another layer of noodles, the remaining ricotta cheese mixture, and top with more meat sauce.

End with a final layer of noodles and top with the remaining 1 cup of shredded mozzarella cheese and 1/2 cup of grated Parmesan cheese.
Step 6: Bake the lasagna

Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil.

Bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes.

After 25 minutes, remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes to allow the cheese to brown and bubble on top.
Step 7: Rest the lasagna
